Virtual Exchange: Rethinking Food Supply and Demand
Friday, October 16, 2020 1:25 PM to 2:55 PM · 1 hr. 30 min. (Africa/Abidjan)
Information
We need to produce 60% more food than we do today to meet the needs of 10 billion people by 2050. But how we do this is essential to the future food system. We need revolutionary new ways of producing foods from alternative methods to sustainable farming practices, new kinds of food to alternative options.
On the other hand, whilst producing enough food is crucial, changing the way we move and manage it must be given equal importance if we are to feed 10 billion people sustainably. Rethinking supply chains, storing food, reduction waste, and changing consumption behaviours are all critical for a sustainable and resilient food system of the future.
